Quantum Astrology: Science, Spirit and Our Place in the Cycles of HistoryReviewsWell title sound promising. Some explanations of major event looked like they match to some stars alignment until Mr Levine started talk about events what I know a little better such as two leaders on different sides of front line in World War II. So Mr Levine pointed at year 1931 saying that at this year two leaders (mentioned below) "..coming to power" because of Saturn - Pluto alignment along with Cancer zodiac sign. Here we go. Cancer 21 June - 22 July has nothing to do with that two leaders or their career. Stalin was born on Dec. 21, 1879, Hitler - April 20th 1889. Now about magic 1931. Here is a facts: " ... By 1921 Adolf Hitler had virtually secured total control of the Nazi party. March 1933. The powers of legislation was taken away from the Reichstag and transferred to Hitler's cabinet for a period of four years. He was appointed Chancellor of Germany on January 30th 1933. Stalin was elected General Secretary of the Party in 1922, and began to increase his personal power. By 1930, he stood alone atop the Party and the Soviet Union... " So as you can see there is not major event on 1931 regarding to these persons. I'm not going to dig up the other facts. It just enough to say that for me now astrology looks like an edge smearing of accuracy. However the stars has influence on us. For example there was Russian astronomer Anatoly Dyakov (1911--1985) who by studding the Sun activities predicted the weather on Earth with precise accuracy predicting in the summer of 1972 on the Central Russian elevation fall great dryness and frost in France. Here is some facts of underestimating the skeptics: Paris, France. Reciprocal telegram: To [a]. [V]. [Dyakov], Temir Tau, the USSR (in sufficient- after all the lenient tone): "Thanks for the dispatch, and in particular for the urgency. We already dress into the warm mantle" (allegedly, ha ha, healthily frightened us you, Russian associate!). On December 21, 1978 - very beginning of the promised By [dyakovym] unprecedented frost in France. Strong temperature drop in Europe produced a sharp increase in the expenditure of electric power... Many plants and factories ended work... Trains froze... Damage is evaluated at four billion French Francs. Well I can't recall that Mr Levine mentioned these events. In my opinion there is a connection between us and stars. It just looks like astrologists can't put all ends together to give accurate picture of this connection. As for DVD itself I can't give more stars because there is no chapters so you can't jump to the next episode if you want to continue to watch it next time, there is not background music, there is only one person constantly talking, there is not enough illustrations and animations, there are a lot dates which Mr Levine trying to squeeze in to Saturn - Pluto alignment. Amazon tells me that "the community" shows a high interest in my reviews and has requested that I upload a photo of myself for my profile page. Most likely, my tendency to be truthful to a fault has attracted someone who would like to make a dartboard out of my face. Well, far be it from me to disappoint. So here I go with my review of this DVD: Astrology 101 with occasional mention of nebulous quantum concepts. Entertaining graphics-the best part of the video. Excellent for newbies on the New Age scene - been there, done that, packed my toys away. What remains is an extensive (and expensive!)esoteric library going back nearly half of a century to lend occasional guidance to thirty plus years as a spirit-centered astrologer. Trust me - this DVD is sadly lacking in both content and technical presentation. I almost felt sorry for Rick Levine as he sat in front of that big cold fireplace reading the teleprompter with his flat-lined voice echoing around the room (can you say "acoustics"?) For the first time in my life, I found myself turning off a tape/DVD because it was annoying me to no end. Save your money and buy yourself a good general astrology primer. And send a good thought for Sacred Mysteries; I'm sure that they mean well. The first half of this dvd is a gem. The second half - yes, it does have a lot of pretty boring Rick talking about world events as they pertain to Pluto. My husband is fairly new to astrology with only a basic understanding - he loved the first half, and hated the second. I have studied astrology for years. I enjoyed the first half better than the second, but I did feel the second half gave me insight. It was just that it was less of a multi-media presentation (like the first half)and more of a boring lecture. I do think this is a good dvd to watch if you want to learn more about how most of us believes 'it works.' I enjoyed and appreciated seeing this done on dvd. I am an older astrologer and greatly enjoyed this presentation of some interesting views, facts and pictures. I plan to share this with a group. It is a good perspective to always keep in mind. Quantum Astrology is an interesting, informative and insightful look at the science behind astrology. I've watched this DVD 3 times just since I bought it last year and have learned more than I would have imagined every time I watch it. Although it does tend to drag in a few places, you hardly notice as Rick Levine makes such a strong and believable case for the science of astrology........a long time coming. Well worth the price. AstrologyReviewsI first discovered Cage when I bought "Hell Bent for Metal 2, A Tribute to Judas Priest". They did a killer cover of Freewheel Burning. I knew I had to find out more about this band. This is their second CD. They have four out right now and a fifth one in the works. There are not enough adjectives to describe how good this band is. Everything about this band is phenomenal from the powerhouse vox of Sean Peck, the songwriting and every other aspect of this cd is great. If these guys were around during the late 70s and early 80s they would have owned that era. Do yourself a favor. Stop reading this review and buy their CD. Your still here! Go! What are you waiting for? This album sounded like an audible version of human waste. I was so angry, when I heard the cd I lost control of my bowels. Too bad there wasn't a 'no star' option. AFTER I GOT THE '' UNVEILED '' CD , I WAS SO BLOWN AWAY AT HOW GOOD AND HEAVR THESE GUYS WERE ..AND HOPED THAT THEY WOULD NOT DISAPPEAR LIKE ALL THE OTHER METAL BANDS THAT COULDN'T CUT IT !WHEN I HEARD THEY HAD A NEW CD OUT , I GOT IT AS FAST AS I COULD SPEND MY CASH!I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH HOW INCREDIBLY GOOD THESE GUYS ACTUALLY ARE !THEY TAKE ME BACK TO WHEN METAL WAS ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC ..NOT THE MONEY!A LOT OF THE SONGS ARE LIKE STUFF BY '' SANCTUARY '' '' NEVERMORE '' '' CRIMSON GLORY ''A BIT OF OLD BLACK SABBATH AND MAINLY '' CANDLEMASS '' ..ESPECIALLY HIS SINGING -WHICH ACCENTS THE MUSIC SO WELL !AND THE MUSIC COULDN'T BE ANY HEAVIER !ALL THE SONGS ARE REALLY GOOD AND HEAVY AS HELL!THERE ISN'T A WEAK ONE ON THE CD ..SO IF YOU WANT SOMETHING REFRESHING AND WHAT GREAT METAL USED TO SOUND LIKE -THEN GET THIS CD TODAY!!AND GET THEIR OTHER 2 AS WELL ..IT'LL BE THE BEST NIGHT YOU'VE HAD AS FAR AS NEW METAL IS CONCERNED IN A LONG WHILE.. KEEP METAL ALIVE!! I've had this cd for a while and never played it for one reason or another..but wow what an amazing band. The track 'Final Solution' is amazing. If you want classic priest, these guys can deliver. This is what the return of heavy metal is all about! Not rap-metal, or hippity hop or any of that nonsense, but true, melodic, gritty and in-your-face-rock. As the rest of the world rejoices with countless new bands of true heavy metal, and has never forgotten the true classics of the genre, the U.S., aside from a small legion of loyal fans, fell somewhat behind, maybe because of the lack of support of major record companies, radio stations, and televison (MTV, here's prime material for the return of HEADBANGER'S BALL!!!)... but with CAGE, it really begins... if you are a fan of power and heavy metal, CAGE is a must-have in your collection! Spread the word, true metal is back, and CAGE are the chosen ones to lead the way!!! Average Rating:![]() |

Road to MoroccoReviewsI saw this movie for the first time tonight and it's the first "Road" picture I've seen. I was expecting waaaaay better. Robert Osborn says this is the best of the Road movies. If that's true I needn't bother to see the others. The best thing about this movie is that it has a lot of songs in the first half, but that's balanced out by only one production number with dancing in the entire movie. I didn't like the movie. Neither Hope nor Crosby came across all that well, their characters weren't very charming, the movie was not funny at all, most of the dialog was just lame filler, there wasn't much action, there wasn't much spectacle. The movie wasn't what I expected. I was expecting more "Road," but there isn't much. They quickly make it to the palace and then most of the movie takes place there, until the end. I was also expecting a lot more of the famous "road" style of breaking the fourth wall, wherein the characters talk directly to the audience or comment on the plot. There was only about 4 instances of that. One of those is an example of the non-funny humor of this script: Crosby: I know all that! Hope: Yeah but the people that came in half-way through the picture don't. Crosby: You mean they missed my song? Those are two weak punchlines, but at least they are actually jokes. Much of the rest of the script doesn't even have any jokes. An example is: Crosby: Remind me to throw you a piece of cheese in the morning. (Indirectly calling Hope a rat). That's not funny at all, it barely even qualifies as a joke, but that's the kind of non-joke dialog that carries most of the movie. Many of the scenes don't even come that close to a joke, just using generic uninteresting dialog like: Crosby: Hey, whadda ya' take me for? You think that you can just throw me to the dogs? Hope: Well why not, you did it to me didn't you? Crosby: Yeah but that's because I was lookin' out for us. You're not lookin' out for nobody. Hope: Oh yeah? Well then why did I pay the check? (the above is just from my memory. It's not exact but it illustrates to you what I mean). And so on....just generic dialog with no jokes at all. My grade: A waste of time. I wasn't sure if this DVD would still be available. It arrived very quickly in Australia in mint condition. Thank you. The "Road" series with Bing and Bob were landmarks in realm of funny movies and Road To Morocco is, to me, by far the best of the bunch. The "boys" had really hit their stride in this one and they obviously had a lot of fun filming it. Lots of good clean laughs, a bunch of inside jokes and some plain old-fashioned fun. THIS MOVIE IS DREDFUL. I mean, those two so-called "heros" are dirty almost the whole time. They smoke dope. They steal food. Is that funny? And their idea of "humor" is to mock old people, Arabs, women, judges, dead people, geese...even fleas. I mean, were fleas funny in 1942? I mean, there's nothing good to say about this movie except that it's funny. The thing about these Bing and Bob road shows is that if you've seen one, you've seen them all and so it makes sense to just get the best one of the lot to see what you've missed; that one would be "The Road to Morocco". I have to admit that I didn't really like this very much the first time I watched it but surprisingly upon second viewing, I found myself appreciating the jokes a lot more and although not all of them age very well, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that most of them did! It was also refreshing to see good acting for a change and the screenplay was deservedly nominated for an Oscar. Released at the start of World War II, you could see that they were working on a shoestring budget and rationing for scarce resources required for the war effort and so much of the "special" effects are pretty lame but I still found myself enjoying this movie overall and I can see myself watching this again and again. The picture quality is good but not great as at the beginning of the film we get lots of shots with that irritating white spots problem but these seem to reduce in frequency as the movie goes on. The sound quality is Dolby Digital Mono and so is nothing to shout about and it would have been nice if a 5.1 surround option was made available but as far as mono recordings go, the sound quality was acceptable. I also liked the bonus features and especially "Bob Hope and the Road to Success". Low budget, low tech but high on entertainment. Average Rating:![]() |

Road to Morocco, number three in the series of breezy comedies teaming Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, may be the funniest of the bunch. Bing and Bob find themselves Morocco-bound ("like Webster's dictionary"), caught in an elaborately faked-up world of harems, palm trees, and other Arabian Nights bric-a-brac... |

Eliza's HoroscopeReviewsThe only movie made by a genius director from Canada, comparable from this perspective to "The Caroussel of Souls," recently released by Criterion. This arthouse gem is an extraordinary blend of Fellini and Kubrick (you will be surprised to see what inspired him in his last movie, "Eyes Wide Shut"). Highly recommended for all real movie buffs and connoisseurs, and not only! Criterion Collection should take a look at this brilliant work of art as well, and release it in the format it deserves. I have this on a tape that is nearly unwatchable, but I stuck it out and found it rewarding viewing. I was excited to get this DVD, which I assumed even at a budget price and likely too heavily compressed, particularly given that the film runs an even two hours, would be an imporvement on that tape, but I was horribly mistaken. The sound is so distorted as to be nearly indecipherable, and an unlistenable film is even worse than a difficult to watch film. It's a shame someone hasn't seen the value of this film enough to give it a decent release. It's a real shame more people don't know about this film; for art-film lovers, it's a true must see. Coming out of Canada in 1970, the only film made by writer/director Gordon Sheppard, it won numerous awards upon release, then fell into apparent obscurity. The story is that of a young woman's search for love, of how she finds it and then, tragically, loses it. This simple plot description does not do justice, however, to the film's deeply felt lyrical beauty. With enough surrealistic touches to satisfy any fan of Fellini, it also packs a real emotional wallop. What more can I say? Track it down. Buy it. Enjoy. You won't be sorry. Average Rating:![]() |

Galileo FS-80/K-800 800 x 80mm Yoke Mount Reflector TelescopeReviewsThis telescope is my more like a toy. It's large but also very light and unstable. We tried for several hours to use it with bad to medium results. Mostly bad. The software is also old. This telescope would be fine for a child of five to maybe eight years old, but not for a serious user or someone who wanted to study the night sky. I guess considering the price, you get what you paid for, but I honestly believe, that due to it's construction it should have not been priced more than half what it's advertised for. I bought this telescope for my 9 year old son and he loves it. I just have to remind him that it only works when there are no clouds above. It has been really cold here in Kansas so we were limited by the weather. We are looking forward to some clear nights so we can enjoy the stars, planets, and moon. It was very easy to assemble and we were able to start using it within 20 minutes. I'm sure we both will have alot of fun together. I would reccomend this telescope to any beginner as it is a good price and great product. I purchased the telescope for my son. I do the setup and alignment of the telescope on targets and found it to be very easy to use. The 20mm and 6mm lenses give you great views. The Planetarium CD is also a nice addition. It was a worthwhile purchase and I recommend this telescope. I have this tendency to look for a cheaper product when I'm not sure if I'll be interested in something, then purchasing a better one later on to fulfill my original thought. The FS-80 was just such a purchase. The FS-80 is easy to set up and use for the beginner looking to see the moon close up, or see Jupiter as more than a dot in the sky. My only complaint is the mount. The slightest touch of any part of the mount or scope, and it shakes so much you have to step back and wait for it to calm down. While this seems bad, you learn to compensate for it. I'll be moving on to a better scope when I have the money to do so, but I will pass this down to the kids. This was a great gift idea for someone just starting out. The software was easy to follow along and the item came almost fully assembled, only had to attach tripod. So it made it all very easy. The Galileo FS-80 is mounted on an altitude azimuth yoke mount. It's easy use up and down, left and right movement is great for beginners and casual star gazers alike.
